Happy Birthday Duke Kahanamoku!
Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku (August 24, 1890 – January 22, 1968)
The Duke was native Hawaiian who spread modern day surfing around the world, he was
competitive swimmer (being a 5 time Olympic medalist) and most importantly he taught and spread ALOHA around the world. For this we are forever in debt and will always think of you in and out of the water.
This is a painting I did about 8 years ago.
